MEET JULI S. REALY

JSR

Juli is the owner/manager of Golden Gait Stable located at 23803 Grange Road in Marengo Illinois, .and offers boarding, leasing, and lessons in riding, horse care and training. She also helps with starting horses, remedial training and problem solving. Horses of all ages, breeds and disciplines are welcome. She considers her facility a place where horse-lovers and horses can bond and grow together in skill and knowledge.

Juli’s background includes training in English, Hunt-seat, Jumping, Dressage, Saddle-seat, Western Equitation /Pleasure, Trail Riding, Foxhunting and Gaited Horsemanship. She is an experienced, professional trainer, clinician, & author. She has worked with Girl/Boy scouts and Pony Clubs, has conducted her popular “Spook-Proofing” and “Gaited Horse Problem Solving” clinics for 10+ years for various groups and festivals through Illinois, Wisconsin, Iowa and Missouri. Juli has published her first book “Starting Smart” that covers the foundations of horse handling and training. Her training articles can be found in popular equine publications such as “The Sentinel” and “From the Horse’s Mouth.”
She also teaches accredited equine classes for Kishwaukee Community College: Equine Ground Training Basics, Starting Under Saddle, Stable Management, Horse Health Care, Equine Transportation, and Form to Function. The classes are “hands on” working with horses and are held at her farm. Students who complete the program successfully receive certification.

Juli’s training philosophies encompass building understanding and skills for the rider/handler as well as the horse. She specializes in true horsemanship through feel methods that are the most natural for both horse and rider. Her methods are based on developing equine communication skills and effective leadership which focus on positive re-enforcment. She blends natural horsemanship methods with the best of traditional horsemanship to bring out the best possible qualities in every horse and rider.

Training services includes work in the saddle as well as ground handling/training for all applications for those who want to develop a correct, safe and fun relationship with their horse. She also offers a unique program to assist those who want to train their own young horses. Students without horses interested in advancing their equine training skills are welcome to intensive classes, working student positions, or internships.

Riding lessons include knowledge of horse psychology and behavior, developing personal body awareness, emotional and physical stability, and building confidence through understanding. She presents her lessons in a simple step-by step stress-free manner and customizes her approach based on individual needs, abilities and goals.

Juli commits most of her time to educating future and novice horse-owners, uneducated horses, and future trainers. She also likes to spend time trail riding with her clients, and promoting Gaited Horses and Gaited Horsemanship.
